Educators are struggling mightily in schools. Not only are they tired and worried and experiencing their own family issues, they have students who are acting out, demonstrating anger and fear and other outsized behavior.

To address these concerns, the founders of the Virtual Teachers Lounge will discuss and engage participants in conversations about trauma, student behavior, measuring achievement and educator wellness. Participants will be able to share actual in-the-trenches experiences and together with the facilitators, we will explore possible tips and strategies to enable surviving these novel and difficult times in education.

VTL would like to thank our sponsors: The Massachusetts PTA Association, The Rutgers Graduate School of Education, Proctor Institute and The Children’s Literacy Foundation and Delta Kappa Gamma.

Thank you to our sponsors and supporters.

Welcome to the Lounge

The Virtual Teachers’ Lounge is a safe, confidential space where current teachers and facilitators can engage in conversations about the challenges of teaching in today’s complex world.  The idea to to enable educators to share, vent and problem solve the issues they confront and the complex feelings they are experiencing across the PreK — 12 educational landscape.

The teachers’ lounge is open to registered participants twice a month on Saturdays. Members of the first two cohorts are also welcomed back.

For our upcoming cohort (our third), we have 3 Zoom dates already in place:  Saturday March 26 from noon — 2:00 pm (EST), Saturday April 2 from noon — 2:00 pm and Saturday April 30 from noon — 2:00 pm.  Future dates through June 2022 will be set when the cohort is up and running.

In addition, we are continuing to offer a Zoom “call-in” hotline for registered participants for pressing problems.  The first call-in date is Wednesday April 13 from 6:00–6:30 pm EST.  Future hotline dates through June 2022 will be created based on participant need.

At the conclusion of the third cohort, all registered participants will receive a $25 Amazon Gift Card, an online, downloadable educational resource titled The Feeling Alphabet, and a certificate of participation.
